10Departure

Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport / Arusha Airport

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport, your driver will meet and transfer you to Babylon Lodge, located on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro. Enjoy dinner at the lodge and a briefing on your safari with your guide. You will agree on the departure time for the next morning.

Day 2: Lake Challa & Moshi Town Tour

After breakfast, travel to Lake Challa, a deep crater lake formed by volcanic activity. Its turquoise waters and quiet setting make it a serene destination perfect for light hiking or birdwatching. Afterward, head to Moshi, a vibrant town at the base of Kilimanjaro, known for its coffee farms, markets, and friendly people. Explore the town briefly, then drive to Arusha, the gateway to Tanzania’s northern safari circuit. Overnight at Meru View Lodge, located on the lush lower slopes of Mount Meru.

Day 3: Tarangire National Park / Overnight in Mto wa Mbu

After breakfast, venture to Tarangire National Park, famous for its massive baobab trees, riverine landscapes, and large elephant herds. During the dry season, the Tarangire River becomes a magnet for wildlife, including lions, leopards, buffalo, zebras, and over 500 bird species. In the late afternoon, drive to Mto wa Mbu, a bustling farming town at the base of the Rift Valley escarpment. Overnight at Migunga Forest Camp, nestled in a quiet forest near Lake Manyara.

Day 4: Drive to Lake Natron / Explore the Lake Area

After breakfast, take a scenic and rugged drive to Lake Natron, a remote and surreal destination at the foot of Ol Doinyo Lengai, Tanzania’s only active volcano. Lake Natron’s bright red waters are home to millions of lesser flamingos, and the surrounding volcanic terrain feels almost lunar. Explore the lake’s shores, nearby waterfalls, and Maasai villages. Overnight at Lake Natron Tented Camp, offering incredible views of the lake and volcano.

Day 5: Drive to Serengeti North

Journey through the remote wilderness into the northern Serengeti, a less-crowded region famous for dramatic Mara River crossings during the Great Migration (seasonal). Even outside the migration, this area offers prime viewing of predators and plains game. Enjoy a late afternoon game drive before settling into Mara Kati Kati Tented Camp, offering a classic bush experience in the northern reaches of the park.

Day 6: Serengeti Central Game Drive

Drive through the heart of the Serengeti, Tanzania’s crown jewel and one of the world’s most famous national parks. Vast plains dotted with acacia trees stretch endlessly, home to lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, wildebeests, and more. Spend the day exploring wildlife hotspots and enjoy a picnic lunch in the wild. Overnight at Tanzania Bush Camps in central Serengeti, combining comfort with authentic wilderness ambiance.

Day 7: Another Full Day in Serengeti Central

Continue exploring the diverse ecosystems of central Serengeti, focusing on areas known for big cats and seasonal wildlife activity. Your guide will tailor the day based on recent sightings. Enjoy the magic of the Serengeti’s golden sunrise and experience the drama of predator-prey interactions. Return to Tanzania Bush Camps for a second overnight stay.

Day 8: Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive

After an early breakfast, drive back through the Serengeti and descend into the Ngorongoro Crater. This UNESCO World Heritage Site offers incredible wildlife sightings, including the rare black rhino. Enjoy a game drive on the crater floor, spotting lions, elephants, buffalo, hippos, and abundant birdlife. After lunch, ascend and drive to Marera Valley Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 9: Hadzabe & Datoga Tribe Visit / Return to Arusha

Early morning, drive to Lake Eyasi, home to the Hadzabe, one of Africa’s last true hunter-gatherer tribes. Spend time learning about their ancient lifestyle, join a hunting demonstration, and visit the nearby Datoga, skilled blacksmiths and pastoralists. This cultural encounter offers a deep look into traditional Tanzanian life. Later, drive back to Arusha and spend your final night at Meru View Lodge.
