Over six days, you’ll journey through lush rainforest, moorlands, alpine desert, and into the arctic summit zone, reaching the famed Uhuru Peak at 5,895m.

Day 1: Arrival in Kilimanjaro.

You will be picked up from Kilimanjaro International Airport and transferred to Babylon Lodge in Marangu, Kilimanjaro. Relax and enjoy a detailed climb briefing and gear check with your mountain Guide, to make sure you are ready for this extraordinary adventure. If you arrived early, you can walk around and stretch.

Day 2: Marangu Gate (1,860m) – Mandara Hut (2,700m)

Start your adventure with a drive to Marangu Gate. After registration, begin your trek through the lush rainforest filled with birds, monkeys, and giant ferns.

  • Hiking Time: 4–5 hours

  • Start Altitude: 1,860m

  • End Altitude: 2,700m

  • Habitat: Montane Forest

Day 3: Mandara Hut – Horombo Hut (3,720m)

Trek through moorland, passing through beautiful landscapes with views of Mawenzi and Kibo peaks.

  • Hiking Time: 6–8 hours

  • Start Altitude: 2,700m

  • End Altitude: 3,720m

  • Habitat: Moorland

Day 4: Horombo Hut – Kibo Hut (4,700m)

The trail ascends into the alpine desert zone. Today is a steady and scenic trek to the final base camp before the summit attempt.

  • Start Altitude: 3,720m

  • End Altitude: 4,700m

  • Habitat: Alpine Desert

Day 5: Summit Day – Uhuru Peak (5,895m) – Horombo Hut (3,720m)

Start your summit push at midnight. Hike through the arctic zone to reach Uhuru Peak, the Roof of Africa. After taking in the views, descend to Kibo for a short rest, then continue to Horombo.

  • Hiking Time: 12–15 hours

  • Summit Altitude: 5,895m

  • End Altitude: 3,720m

  • Habitat: Arctic to Moorland

Day 6: Horombo Hut – Marangu Gate – Arusha

Descend through rainforest terrain to Marangu Gate. Celebrate with your team before returning to Arusha.

Day 7: Departure

Depending on your flight time, you’ll be transferred to the airport for your onward journey or your flight back home. You can also extend your adventure with a beach extension in Zanzibar.
