Balloon Safari

The first light reaches the grasslands while the balloon is still being prepared. From the basket, familiar safari country becomes a much larger landscape: river curves, scattered trees and the long distances between them. This is as much about space and stillness as wildlife.

We match your balloon base to where you are staying. A flight near Central Serengeti cannot substitute for one near a northern camp without a substantial transfer. Ballooning can also be arranged in Tarangire; the operator, location and final inclusions are confirmed in your proposal.

How the experience unfolds

1. A pre-dawn collection takes you to the launch area.
2. Meet the pilot, receive the safety briefing and watch inflation.
3. Fly for approximately one hour, subject to wind and landing conditions.
4. Land and continue to the arranged bush breakfast before rejoining your guide.

Central Serengeti and Tarangire operate across the year, weather permitting; other launch areas follow seasonal schedules.
