Leave room for doing nothing

A honeymoon needs more than a special room.

A safari honeymoon need not be a sequence of early starts and one-night stops. Choosing fewer bases creates time to enjoy a place together. Discuss how much game driving you want and which days you would rather leave flexible.

Private dining, sundowners and balloon flights can be lovely additions, but none should be assumed. Venue, weather, seasonal operation and camp policies determine what is possible. Ask for every agreed extra to be listed in the quotation.

When adding Zanzibar, protect the transition day. Flights, road transfers and check-in can take most of it. A few full beach days give you time to settle in; the right coast and room depend on the season, tides, your budget and the atmosphere you prefer.
