A JOURNEY WORTH IMAGINING

Your safari, at a glance.

Follow a seasonal route from central Serengeti to the western corridor. A central overnight on the return keeps the journey to Ngorongoro realistic, and the crater provides a different final wildlife setting.

Moments to look forward to

  • Central and western Serengeti
  • Five Serengeti nights
  • A practical overnight on the return

The route

Across the highlands to Serengeti → A full day in central Serengeti → Toward the western corridor → Explore the western Serengeti → Return to central Serengeti → Serengeti to the Ngorongoro highlands → Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha

When to travel

Typically May–June; herd timing and access vary

The story, day by day.

A proposed daily flow. Timings, rooms and arrangements are confirmed in your personal itinerary.

Day 01Across the highlands to Serengeti

Travel through the Ngorongoro highlands and onward to the central Serengeti.

This is a long road day over variable surfaces, with scenery and stops along the way. Enjoy wildlife viewing en route to camp when arrival time permits.

Day 03Toward the western corridor

Leave the central region for the western Serengeti, with wildlife viewing along the way.

Day 04Explore the western Serengeti

Spend the day in the western corridor’s woodlands and plains.

Follow the guide’s current information on herd movements and resident wildlife. Migration timing varies, so the day remains rewarding without a river crossing.

Day 05Return to central Serengeti

Travel back toward the central region with a picnic lunch and game viewing as time permits.

This repositioning day avoids an unrealistic direct dash from the west to the crater. Stay centrally for the onward highlands journey.

Day 06Serengeti to the Ngorongoro highlands

Enjoy an early game drive, then leave the Serengeti for the highlands.

Allow much of the day for travel and park formalities. Reach accommodation near Ngorongoro with time to prepare for tomorrow’s early crater departure.
